Rajasthan:

In Rajasthan, all 15 Hindustan Copper Limited employees were safely evacuated from a copper mine in the Neem ka Thana district. According to police sources, they have been imprisoned since last night, when a personnel transport cage collapsed owing to a snapped rope. Among the rescued, 10-11 officials suffered shattered legs, but the others are said to be safe.

The tragedy occurred while a surveillance crew and senior officials from the state-owned enterprise were inspecting the mine. As they prepared to ascend, the rope anchoring the shaft or ‘cage’ snapped, trapping around 14 people, according to police reports. Approximately 6-7 ambulances were stationed on the spot. The local MLA emphasized that every member of the government is watchful, and that all people will be safely evacuated, with no injuries reported thus far.

When Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma learned of the accident at Hindustan Copper Limited’s Kolihan mine in Khetri, Jhunjhunu, he swiftly inspected the situation. Officials were given immediate instructions to hasten relief and rescue activities, as well as provide the afflicted folks with the required aid and hospital facilities. He prayed for the injured’s rapid recovery and the safe rescue of those still trapped in the mine.
